Working at The Hinds Head

Working at The Hinds Head is never dull! It is different every day, full of excitement and challenge and can lead to the opportunity of a lifetime.

We are an important feature of the gastronomic experience on offer in the small village of Bray. Nestled in the green and beautiful Thames valley and only 20 mins by train to/from London, our village with its choice of restaurants is a discerning holiday destination for serious food lovers from all over the world. And it’s really popular with the locals too.

To match the excellence of our food and service, The Hinds Head places great importance on being a considerate and generous employer and offers genuine opportunities to both young and more mature staff who want to embark on a full-time career or part-time work in first-class hospitality.

If you have the right personal ingredients for our special recipe in hospitality, we can build and nurture your talent to enable you to realise your full potential and reap the rewards. It goes without saying that it is hard work but we aim to make it fun too. Energy and enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn and grow are what we are all about.

The level of dedication to our staff includes listening to your views and concerns, giving consideration to requests for flexible working hours as far as practicable, encouraging and supporting learning and further qualifications through relevant courses at local colleges, help with English lessons, staff meals during shifts plus other benefits, help with finding accommodation in the area and access to personal counselling services.

If you are satisfied and happy in your work with us, then our customers will feel it too.

Supporting education in hospitality

The Hinds Head has forged strong links with local and national colleges and universities, offering courses and qualifications in the catering and hospitality sectors. For our work in this area we have won an award for ‘HR in hospitality links with schools and colleges’.

For example, after successfully completing a Level 3 NVQ, Chef and Restaurant Certificate/Diploma at Thames Valley University, Chris Hunter, one of our casual chefs, is now a Demi Chef de Partie-Pastry.
